BURP SUITE SCAN MANUAL
The suite of products can be used to combine automated and manual testing techniques and consists of a number of different tools, such as a proxy server, a web spider, scanner, intruder, repeater, sequencer, decoder, collaborator and extender. What is Burp Suite ?īurp Suite is widely used pen testing framework, created by PortSwigger Web Security, to perform security testing on web applications. The vulnerability scanner at the heart of Burp Suite Professional and Burp Suite Enterprise Edition is one such tool. Vulnerability scanners are much more efficient than manual testing, and the best tools will flag all but the most exotic bugs. Without vulnerability scanning, it can be very hard to keep up and stay compliant / avoid a data breach. Website vulnerability scanning is the fastest way to find holes in a site’s security using known attack vector. To ease up the process in security world, specifically for scanning web application or mobile application we have vulnerability scanners. In security field, the domain/vector/target is too large that is becomes difficult for a individual to scan the whole target manually. For more information on editing a site's scan configurations, see Scan configurations.Everything is first scanned and then approached. The scan uses the scan configuration selected for the site. It will have a status of either Schedule start or Queued, depending on whether you chose to start the scan immediately or not. Refresh the page to view your new scan in the list.

The scan is scheduled and you will be taken back to the Scans page. If you chose to create a recurring scan, select whether to schedule this scan to repeat forever, a fixed number of times, or until a particular date. For example, you can combine this setting with the start time to create a scan that runs every day at midnight. Recurring scans are useful for generating plenty of data so that you can keep track of how your security posture is improving over time. Select whether you want to create a one-time scan or whether you want to schedule a scan that should be performed repeatedly at a regular interval. Select whether you want the scan to start as soon as possible or schedule the scan to start at a specific time. However, you can change this to a different site if you want. If you created the scan from within a site, this will be preselected for you.

Select the site on which you want to perform the scan. Alternatively, you can open a site and click the New scan button from the site details page. To create a new scan, go to Scans > Create a new scan.
